Montblanc

Montblanc had always been a favourite brand of mine. I had always wanted to buy stuffs from the store for Ah Dear, but everytime, I found myself strapped for cash. So, I normally opt for the cheaper option - braun buffel - which is my next favourite and more affordable brand.

However, as I accompanied him to get formal wear, I realized, I have a chance to buy him presents again! =) =) Well, in the past, the most I can get for him is just the wallet because that's something that he uses. And then, I thought I got a little creative, so I got him an Ashworth belt because I kinda like the brand and the texture too. And then, I got stuck. There's no point in buying him anything more than that! But NOW, story is a little different now!! I can get him cufflinks, tie pins, pens and stuffs like that! Oh boy, I feel so excited just thinking of it. (Now that leads me thinking, why do we like to buy each other presents so much? Haha.)

The first brand that came to my mind again is Montblanc! My favourite brand! I think the star is soooo nice in front of the black background. Hehs. One day, I'll get him the pen! But that has to wait a little while. I think I can afford the cuff links at least. Right? =) =)

Was browsing through the shop and tadang! I saw alot of nice designs~~!!! Wooooooooo. I love getting my hands on them!!

Diamond rings

It's another lazy saturday afternoon. Not doing anything because there's nothing much to do. Ah dear's enjoying himself at KL (DAMN! Going holiday without me!), so, there goes my usual saturday hang out person. Manuscript's done, so no more readings to do. No sewing inspiration. No dramas to follow.

So, what shall I do leh? Haha. I thought of planning for our anniversary present! Hehs.

I just googled it and one of the first few sites that pop up, include Tiffany and co's webby. Wah. They look so pretty eh. Hahaha. Now I wish for a Tiffany's diamond ring instead. Lol! I prefer the 2nd heart shape one!

But they are all so impossibly expensive! Gosh, if I were to wish for them, I think, I would have to wait for a lot more years before I can get married le la! Hahaha. Btw, the heart shape one that I prefer is like USD 10800. And, it's still subjected to availability! OMG! Well, heart shaped diamonds are generally more expensive because they are so special. But, I can actually settle for a simple round one! Like, this! Erm, it's slightly cheaper. USD 9200. Hahahahahahahaha! I think I have to wait for super long before I get married too. Lol!

But seriously, for commoners like us, who would notice what grade your diamond is? Like, we dun go around showing off our ring, we dun go around with the magnifying glass they give you, just to look at how shiny your diamond ring is right? Hahahahahahaha! Of course, if it's branded and if you know that it's super good and expensive, you'll feel more proud la. But, there's no much point in it, right? Hehs. So long, it's given to you by the right person (that person can buy you the super huge diamond and be someone you'll nv love right?) and it does not look too fake (i think too big ar, ppl will say that i'm wearing a fake one. LOL!) and that it look simple and nice, it's enough. Right?

Even though it's just one small little tiny stone, and that gold is so much more valuable, I still wish for my diamond ring. Haha. I guess it's more of a symbol! Hehs. Surprisingly, ah dear actually let me look at diamond rings on thursday sia! Hahahaha. *I can almost feel that he'll buy for me if he's rich enough* LOL! And he even ask me who I do I trust enough to help choose THE RING for me. Muahahahaha. (Sorry buddy, I named Weng and I told him, no, although I think you have some good eyesight at stuffs at times, I think, we have been having too many disagreements over food etc. So, PLEASE try not to ask TXY. HAHAHAHAHAHA!) But he end off the conversation with, 'but, still long la hor?'

AISH!

But nvm, let's not let love goes over our head and forget our logic. LOL! And he've gave me a pair of diamond earrings for our anniversary last time. I just found out the price sia.... It's ard $400 bucks and he bought it when he was still in NS! WOAH! No wonder he was soooo broke that time! Diamonds are reallllly soooo expensive siaaaaaa.... It look so tiny leh. Hahahahahahahahahha!

Well, no diamond ring is one thing, I saw something I like at the website too! I thought it's simple and nice. Hehs. I'm about to place an order le. LOL!!!! But, no idea on how to get it. LOL! It is 100 on the US website leh. But dunno the price on the international website. Hahaha. But wells, it's impulsive shopping because I know I seldom wear necklaces nowadays. LOL!

I cant wait for tmr!! =)

Taiwan June 2010

Hehs. The title actually specify the month. Well, you never know whether I will return to the place this year because they are always so generous with the beamtime. At least I know, my group's going in July again. But, I think I'll give it a miss. The biggest reason is cos I'm already taking one week off to Phuket, which equates to one week loss of productivity, which equates to one week less to prepare for my manuscript. Haha. And, I'm not focusing my efforts in producing new crystals now. BOO!

Alright, back to Tw. I thought it was great! Hehs. Yesh, it totally feels like Malaysia to me, but the food and shopping made it up for everything. Well, more of food, because the shopping, you can really get it online la.

But nonetheless, it's a great trip. It's my first time travelling out of Singapore alone. Well, pretty much so. So, it gets a little scary initially. But when I think of it as an adventure, it got a little exciting!

Well, I haven had much memory of taking any plane that is not from a budget airline, even though my mama insisted that we took Singapore airlines to HK before. Hahahahahahahahaha! Like, seriously, that was so many years ago!! I already forgot the experience le ba?

Oh well, I was pretty much excited before the trip because, I got to actually depart/arrive at T3. I really understand why we are the top airport when I'm there. LOL! I think, they dun really look at T1 for the survey ba.. Haha.

And it's been great flying with SIA. The air stewardess and the air steward look sooo much nicer sia. Haha. And not to mention, food to curb my hunger and entertainment to keep me entertained! I thought the lunch was good. But, the return journey de was pretty lousy, I would say. Even the bread is also different!

And the journey to NSRRC was really great! The view was awesome!!

I had a pretty modest room. And I had no complains about it, except for the funny smelling toilet. Haha. The place was spacious and clean and quiet. It's pretty good for one person. I just have to turn on the TV to make sure that I am not really alone. But boy, when I first enter the empty room, I feeeeel sooooo lonely and scared sia. Then I keep chanting 'or me to fo, i'm here to lend the place'. Hahahahaha! But it turned out to be pretty great! Hehs. I missed the place a little after I left!

Well, the best thing about staying alone is that, one bed is for me to chunk all other stuffs, one bed is for me to sleep. Hahahaha! And, I never have to worry about messing up the room too much. Because, there's no one to care about me at all!

But seriously, the most upsetting thing about the trip was that, my first meal was actually mos burger! Like? Hello? We are at tw right? Hahahahaha! But I guess they were right that we should rest earlier the first night so we wun be too tired the following day. Lol. So well, it is a little different. Their default is, large size! Like, there's nothing called upsize you know? We ate BK before we left, and it was like, hmm, super large size too! Haha!

But because the mos burger was in the university, I thought it was rather nice. Haha. I haven really enjoyed this night campus life before. Plus the weather was really great. So, oh well. It was pretty ok! And we stopped by the convenience store to buy some food. I love it man! I wish Singapore can start selling such nice drinks and bread and cup noodles tooo.

I din slp well. Maybe because it's the first night. But I rather think that it's because the sun rose super duper uber early. I keep thinking that I am real late sia.... Gosh! But wells, I'm all ready to start work. However, I was really very tired sia... I totally cannot process my brain and thoughts the first day. Thank god they let me go back earlier to rest because I really cannot make it any longer. Haha!

I really love the place. I think, it was because of the space and the high ceiling. And I was practically doing nothing after I was done with my crystals. Lol. It was a really nice learning experience. But, it really get tiring and boring. Lol! Look pass that, it will be great. Hahaha!

And because it's a working trip, I got to do something that I would not do it I went TW for holiday myself! And that is, eating the bento! Gosh, they are so cute. Hahaha! I love it sia.. Esp the lu rou fan. I think they are the best that I have had. Really. Even better than the ones that I had over at Taipei. Lol. Please dun be deceived by the colors. Because, it's a must eat thing when you go TW!

Up till now, I still cannot fathom their serving size. And still, the taiwan ppl are still pretty slim. Hmmmmm.

And because Dear got a thursday ticket (because he's due to arrive around evening time. So it's better to get a day earlier so that he wun be spending really just 2 days at TW), so they gave me the green light to go ahead on thursday to meet him. WELL, I got nothing much to do also. 2 hands were really enough sia. Lol! Unless there's some data processing. But, still, 2 hands are really enough!

So, off I went on Thursday! I thought it was still early, so I hopped over to the Cheng Huang Temple as I had always wanted. Hmmm. I have a thing with temples. I love to visit them and talk to them sia.. Especially wen chang ye. Oh, he was at the temple too! Haha. Another motive was to eat the bloody famous mee hoon that they could not order for me cos all the stalls they order lunch from does not sell the bee hoon. Hehs.

I actually felt pretty much at peace when I was roaming the streets alone. Okay, I admit, the moment the taxi drove out into the town area, I felt realllly.... Hahaha. But I got over it after while. Hehs. And I felt really cool roaming around myself. And I learned how to jay walk. Lol! It's a must learn over at TW. Like, seriously. Hahaha!

And because it was way too heavy. Bought too much balls and bee hoon, I have to head back. After awhile, I think it's about time to check in anyway, so, I hopped over to Taipei. The journey was realllly tough. Because, I bought tooooo much food. Hahahaha!

I think the station and the train was realllly nice. Haha. Very comfortable. Plus, the weather was brrrrr.. COLD! LOL! Comfortable though. =)

As I was on the train and looking out of the windows, I felt realllly nice and happy. I guess it's the joy of traveling by yourself. There's no one to talk to you. Just plug in your iPod and enjoy all the peace and scenery. Solitude. Haha. I was a little not used to when I met Dear at Taipei. It felt wierd to have someone by your side all the time. Holding your hands and make sure the vehicles dun hit you. Carrying all your stuffs. Etc etc etc. But well, I got over it, like, after one night though. HAHAHAHAHHAHA!

It was a totally different environment when I reached Taipei. All the bluster and noise and PEOPLE. Eeeuu. I cant get used to it sia... Up till now, I still prefer Hsinchu. Haha. But! The guesthouse we stayed at made up for everything. Yes, it is a tad far from the mrt station. But at least, it is near the bus stop and a mini night market and alot of nice food! Plus, the room was great, the host was great and the breakfast was great. Walking a little more should be okay I guess. Esp after eating so much food. Haha!

The rest of the trip was purely calories loading, walking till you drop dead and shopping non-stop. Haha. I felt unleashed sia.. The best part was we dun really sweat there! Hmm. Because of the low humdity. I cant even move the moment I reached the guesthouse sia. Fell aslp almost immediately. But, it was really great! Haha.

I would say, shi da night market is a must go if you wanna buy clothes. Trendy ones of course. And shihlin is a must go for popular food. And definitely, ximending. Yes, the things are a little more expensive. But, the array of selection was pretty nice! Haha. I think the shopping queen just erm, bestowed upon me, so I felt like buying almost everything la. But seriously, I think alot of the stuffs can be found online though. LOL! And I bet, going to Korea/Japan would be much better since the trend was from there. Lol!

I love all the bubble teas there. Every single cup was great! And the milk teas too. Yums. =)

Perhaps, the trip was great because of having ah dear with me everyday!

Okay, the photos were all frm FB anyway. Haha. So, more photos are actually up on FB itself. Hehs.

Gosh, coming back from tw is like transiting from holidaying to working. But we both know that it's impossible for us to settle down so early. Not with him still studying and both of us barely surviving. Hahaha. But I still do find it amazing to be pretty much in love with each other even though we are advancing to celebrate our 6th year anniversary soon. =) =)

And I have to say something. Distance does not necessary makes heart grows fonder. At least in my life. LOL! Because, I can actually get use to life without him after sometime. Yes, I will miss him and stuffs, but I have been able to actually find things to stuff up the time without him. For example, his one month in tw a few years back. Hahaha. The initial stage was terrible. But, I can get use to it. And it felt really wierd to have him nearby again. Just like the day when I met him at Taipei. It was really. Not used.

Therefore, I conclude. I would rather have my ah dear nearby all the time. Hahaha! Distances would be a test to a relationship, rather than making both more in love with each other. You tell me la, how to increase the level of love when you are not interacting much at all??! That was a crazy theory right? Hahahahahaha! In my life at least. Lol! But of course, I really do think we do need time apart at times. This is not to make 2 love each other more, for goodness sake. It's to ensure that we dun get sick of each other and making love decrease instead. LOL!

Okay, enough of digressing and enough said about the trip. It was great. And I would love to explore other parts of TW if there is another chance. But for next year, I would like to aim to go to Korea, maybe for the beautiful autumn season! Let's work hard and save hard for it! Meanwhile, there's a Phuket trip to unwind and look forward to! =)
