Election Fever.
It's taking up way too much of my time (not that I'm complaining of course). But, there's so much buzzing around. It's on the mouth of almost everyone during food time, traveling etc. You see so many people rising up against the PAP. It's the first time ever that I have seen such buzzing.
This is good and this is healthy. I can feel this Singapore spirit finally! Singaporeans are rising up! Singaporeans are not quiet anymore! Singaporeans have a say! Singaporeans are not "Yes man" anymore! No matter which party Singaporeans are supporting, they are speaking up for them. No matter what the election results is going to be, Singaporeans are showing the new government to be that they are not the "Yes man" anymore. Minority voices are finally heard and brought up the tables.
And, no matter which party we support, I believe that we should thank the opposition parties. They are risking their future for us by speaking up now. They are the ones who showed us so many things that we had not even heard of. Even if you are a pro-PAP person, they sparked off the Singaporean spirit in you and make you want to support the party even more than before. And most of the people I know of are able to give reasons to substantiate why they are choosing the party of their choice. They all have a mind of THEIRS and not of OTHERS.
I end with the note that, I'm not speaking for ALL the Singaporeans because there are bound to have people who fall through cracks you see. Just like how many of the people I know of fall through the cracks of the government which was just DISSOLVED not too long ago.
Big Lord, please continue to bless Singapore and her people no matter how the election results will turn out. Bless the people to have a sound mind of their own when they cast their vote on 7 May. Please put the right people into the government. Amen.
