A letter to SOX

Dear Silly and Naughty SOX protein,

It's been quite a while since I picked up you as one of my protein since I was doing a project on your friend, UL12. Even though my heart longs to get away from you, I know, I have to control you and work along side with you.

BUT HOR! Other than giving me nice purification peaks and pretty good concentrations, what have you given me? Oh, good thermal shift assays? Hey, get your idea straight, you bind in the biophysical assay don't mean much you know? You did not behave yourself during the FBD screening as well as the SPR screening. And, you only want to give me things like flaky or string-like crystals that flip around and don't break. Oei, you supposed to be a crystal, not a thread you know?

So, before I throw you away and spank your friend alongside with you. PLEASE WAKE UP YOUR IDEA! Don't think I treat you like a precious protein sample then you think you are a king/queen/princess or whatever whatever somebody somebody big hor! I'm warning you with a ultra stern tone. You do know that I just put you in a boiling water bath, or even just a 40C water bath, you will DIE immediately!!!

But, you know, I really love you so. So, let's cooperate with each other and make this world a better world.
