Valentines' Day had never been really a super major occasion in my calender because it's seriously just another overpriced holiday. However, it still gives us an excuse to actually come together on this day to spend sometime with each other and to express our love to each other. So, I don't reject the idea of Valentines' Day.
Girls love receiving flowers on Valentines' Day, don't they? Well, a part of me agreed. But, the logical me know that it's just a waste of money and a waste of space. And, just look at the couples who have the flowers. It's always the guys carrying it at the end of the day. So, why bother? Haha.
Exchanging of gifts is no longer trendy in our sense. If there is an exchange of gifts, I felt that it should be a token of love and appreciation. We are not on a war on who gets the most expensive gift. I would love to get the most thoughtful gift instead. A card declaring your love would be so much more memorable and pleasing to my eyes than a present you spur on. Look, we are not that superficial, aren't we? Haha.
I had a lovely Valentines' Day. And, I'm glad that deardear and I are on the same line on what defines this special day. We don't need beautiful flowers and expensive presents. We just want to spend time with each other, talking to each other, declaring our love and definitely filling our tummy with good food. And definitely, today is not exactly very special because these are what we do many times in a year.
It's a wonderful day!
